There was a post a while back about a code P 0243 but no fix . I know its the wastegate soliniod malfuction ( spelling ) code but where is it and how can you do a FIX ?

Would help if you'd post what type of truck you have - that's a generic DTC for any TC vehicle with a WG - I'm gonna hazard a WAGuess that you have a Dodge with a Cummins engine in it - so, check WG fuse - if ok disconnect the WG connector from the solenoid, see if pins are oxidized\corroded, any wires chafed\broken, up against exhaust manifold, turbo or pipe - if ok hook up a test lite between pin B and engine ground, turn on IGN = lite should lite - other pin A is PCM control - turn off IGN - connect the lite between pins A and B, turn on the IGN - in ~30 seconds the lite should lite very britely - if ok, the solenoid is bad - if not ok, check for broken wires in the harness - if wires ok, PCM is headed south for the winter
