check gauges light

Hello guys

I have my check gauges light flashing once and a while, its just a fraction of a second that it lights up,I don,t see anything on my gauges ,the values are all normal.
It happens from 1 -3 times a day,there are no codes .

Do I worry about this ?

Oh the truck is a ,03 ctd.

thanks A.J

I have a hunch it's your lamp out indicator. What does the icon look like? Do a search for "lamp out" and you'll find a bunch of threads. The lamp out icon actually says "lamp out" and the check engine light icon looks like an engine. I could be wrong with my hunch but the 03 is notorious for having lamp out problems.

My 03 has done this for 88k, it just flashes on for a micro second once in a while, it has never thrown a code, I notice it more at night since its easier to see, I gave up asking about it a long time ago, dealer said that as long as it didnt throw a code dont worry about it, I have heard of lots of other trucks doing it from time to time.

Exactly, thats what its doing,in daylight you dont see it as clear as in the dark.
So I guess I do not have to worry about it?

My '03 has the same problem. Except mine comes on about every minute or so and is usually accompanied with a chime. Very annoying. I read on here that '03's are known for this. From what I've read it can usually be fixed by flashing the ecm. Chrysler put out a TSB for it also. It took five trips to the local dealer to tell me this. Unfortunately for me, flashing the ecm only made mine worse. The dealer told me after I took it back in that they called Chrysler and Chrysler told them that I needed a new gauge cluster. I decided to not spend the $1000 plus dollars and live with it. I just wish I knew how to disconnect the light and chime because it comes on so much.
