After a harsh bashing from colorado and south dakota winter my eagle 114's are in pretty sad shape. I was wanting to know what everyone has the best of luck with polishing wheels with or what they use. I have mothers and a powerball but that things doesn't seem to work all that well. Maybe i just wasn't paitient enough with it I don't know... They are a tiny bit pitted here and there but just mainly grungy and oxidized. I have a good milwaukee buffer but i haven't ever seen any attachments for a buffer to get into small spots. thanks for any advice.

 

Never Dull, It's a cotton wadding in pregnatined with abrasive material that removes corrosive blemishes. It comes in a metal can and sold in hardware stores.

 

A 3" buff on a die grinder will get the job done pretty quick using buffing compound.Eastwood will have everything you need.

 

go to a large truck stop there are usaully a guy or 2 who polish stuff and they dont charge to much. let them get the shine back then you can maintane it for less work and $$$

 

Most people might stone me but, I have the same rims when they get really tarnished use the SOS cleaning pads from under the kitchen sink. You might laugh but it works,does not scratch them, then do a quick buff with the powerball, brand new.

 

+1 on this one... help the homeless! I know most truck stops have a few homeless guys walking around offering to do polish work for about $50!

I know they do most rigs for around $200!

But once you have everything done, put a sealer on it!

 

Farecla G3. Napa Auto Body should have it. It's professional detailing compound.

 

Won't anything you do remove the clear coat?
But if it's already too late.... I switched from Mothers to Gord's. Much less effort required and works about as well!
My 3ed Gen polished Al. Wheels are coated, so I just use Soap and water.
I use Gord's Polish on my polished aluminum front Bumper/Bullbar. Water Spots are my biggest problem. Gords has cut my polishing time in half!

Best I have found to re-polish something that was already polished is the Never Dull wadding paper. Just rub the wheels down with it and use a plastic walmart bag or newspaper to wipe down the wheel once the ND is applied. If they are in bad shap use some elbow grease. It will turn it all black, use a buffing cloth to wipe the wheel down and it will be good as new.

I have a rock buggy with tons of polished aluminum on it. I used the powerball in the past and it took forever. This takes 1/4 of the time and no buffing required.
