basic powertrain warranty
basic powertrain warranty
Did a search and couldn't find what i was looking for so here goes....
I had my rear ujoint go bad on my truck took it in to dodge and after arguing they finally agreed that it was the ujoint. Well they couldn't get it out so they had to replace the whole driveline. they gave me my keys with a receipt that said owed= 0.00 so i walked out. 2-3 weeks later i get a phone call from dodge saying and i quote "YOU FORGOT TO PAY YOUR DEDUCTIBLE OF 100 DOLLARS" now i do have an extended war. 100k bumper to bumper but isn't that considered drivetrain? and the truck has 40k on it so would it be covered under the basic warranty? and why would they give me the keys and a receipt that said owed = 0.00 ??? and now they want money i havent called them back they just keep leaving me messages Any advise would be great!! thank you .

I would argue that they gave you a receipt showing owed $0.00. The driveline warranty has some exclusions but I'm not familuar with what or where so read your fine print. But I would definatly call them back and offer to send then a COPY of your receipt showing no charge ad let them go from there.

If it was done under the power train warranty, yes there is a 100 dollar deductible. When I had a axle seal replaced that was the first thing they wanted so I'm not sure why they gave you a receipt that said 0.00 on it. My guess is that someone thought that someone else had collected the money or something along those lines. Basically just a big misunderstanding. Call them and find out what is going on.

Yes basic warranty is 3yr. 36000 miles. The powertrain though on his 05 is 7yr. 70,000miles. I don't think your 06 has the 7/70 though. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Warranty
It depends on the year for the basic warranty. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the "new" 03 models came with a 7year / 100K mile warranty. They did that since it was a "redesigned" model to entice people to purchase the new Heavy Duty P/U.
