5yr/100k powertrain warranty on DurtyMax

Saw an ad today announcing GM's 5/100 powertrain truck warranty.

IMHO, It'd be mighty smart of DC to bring back the 7/70 for the new 6.7l (& 68RFE) for '07.5 to help with customer confidence in the new powertrain.

The 7/70 is one of the major factor this (previously) chebby man made the switch to Dodge in the first place.

The Duramax has always had a 5yr/100k powertrain warranty. GM is now putting the same warranty on gassers as a ploy to sell more vehicles. I would rather see them step up and offer a better bumper to bumper warranty. 3yr/36k miles is embarrassing given the level of quality in today's vehicles.

Just curious, DID DC bring the 7/70 back for '07, or is it the same 3/36 with the option to purchase extended coverage?

As far as I know the factory warranty is still just 3/36. As udflyer98 said, given the level of quality of today's vehicles this is embarassing.

I'd be curious to know how many sales DC has lost because of this poor warranty.

To correct you, GM had the 5yr/100,000 mile waranty on the Duramax only. Now it covers the engine, transmission, transfer case, and differentials. (In other words, it now covers the whole drive train system, not just the engine.)
