Automatics with boost gauge?

Is it normal to max out boost 22psi+ everytime you take off from a stop? I'm not talking about raceing either. Just a normal take off, not real slow but not real fast either. The truck I'm talking about is a stock 05, 3500 SRW, 4x4, 3.73, auto.

Sounds pretty normal to me.I hit 19-25 psi. a lot whan I'm getting on it a little.(1/2 throttle+/-)You'll hit 30ish. when you punch it.(You'll also probably fry the rubber too when you do that.)

Pah...

When the boost gauge gets to 22 PSI, that's when you know to take your left foot off the brake...

I've not driven a automatic. And this was not power braking. It's a stock 05. With my 6spd I never hit max boost even with the Edge on unless I stick my foot in it. If the torque converter is real loose on a auto could that cause the max boost since it takes more fuel to get it to move?

I never see more than 10psi when I am pulling away from a red light unless I am trying to get into it hard. something isn't right if you are pulling that kind of boost just to get moving.

I can get it up to 20 psi +/- from a stop light if I get on it a little, and that's not racing. But it will come down after I hit crusing speed.

I have hit 31-32lbs with my bone stock w/ 3.73's. If I'm on the x way, and getting upto speed, I can do around 30-40 mph, than push it to the floor, sh'ell kick down, and the boost will go right up to at least 30lbs. I usually wait to do that untill I get a ricer or something in that nature, with his window down, ususally when his drivers window is near my tailpipe, I love watching them in my rear-veiw, waving their hands back and forth, trying to fan the cloud of black smoke out of their cars!!

If the torque converter is to loose that would be a possible cause of max boost. For instance driving at 65 and going up a slight grade with the cruse on it will hit max boost.
How to get the dealer to fix it? It's only loose not broken. Lousy fuel mileage isn't their problem.
