I think I may try to track down some Royal P im the AM, douche it all out with parts cleaner and try it again with heavier wt 75/140.

Backing up this PM sounded like there was a box of rocks in a crusher...could feel it throughout the truck. Put it gear and go straight, notheing.
Oil is not gonna fix it.....wishfull thinking. Don't waste your money on LS additive. It willl not work for the trac-rite.

I'd still take the AAM 11.5 over a Dana 70 or 80 any day!

Hate to sound like a know it all on my third post, additive will not help in the rearends, and as far as the service manager telling you the clips come apart, he is thinking of the tsb on 9.25 1/2 ton rear axles. No such clips on these units. These are internally all gear diffs, and seem to be fairly good. I've only seen one fail in our dealership, but we have done a couple of ring gear and pinions. I agree that they seem to be better than the Dana axles in everyway but the ujoints.

The AAM 11.5 does have clips internal to the rear diff. The carrier bearing preload adjusters are locked in with a clip and a bolt. If those worked loose, yeah that would be a problem.
