Another injector in 2 months
At 15K miles I had injector #6 go. Dealer fixed it $950 later due to volumizer and TST. Got the truck back and ditched TST and volumizer and installed Bullydog Crazy Larry. Now only 600 miles later same problem, crankcase is overfilled again and lost oil pressure as I pulled in my driveway. My question is how do I determine which injector is bad. I am not bringing it to the dealer, I am plenty capable of changing it out. I was trying to get it fixed for free one the first one. I would like to just replace the defective one if i can figure out which one is bad. I would also be interested in a new set if they are reasonably priced stock or modified. Any help on where to buy would be appreciated.

I had my #6 injector replaced at about 7,000 miles. It was just leaking while off enough to cause a lot of white/blue smoke on cold start up for a minute or two. Never really detected any fuel in the oil. Fortunately they replaced mine under warranty. I had been running a DR Performance Stage II box for about three weeks when it got bad enough for me to remove the box and take to the dealer. That box went back. I have 40,000 miles now and have had 5 or 6 different high horsepower boxes and the BDDL with Crazy Larry downloader on since then with no more injector problems.
Industrial Injection sells two or three different injectors for the Cummins CR engines. I probably will try some this year. I have heard good things about them and they are reasonably priced.

Remove the exhaust manifold. Start up the truck. The port with the bad injector should be readily apparent. Excess smoke.
That is, if the injector is leaking excessively into the cylinder.
It might be leaking externally in the overhead valve galley. Most likely if the truck doesn't have any running symtoms. Visual examination in that area should show you which one. If you run the truck without the valve cover on, get ready for a mess. And be VERY careful of fuel under VERY HIGH PRESSURE. It can do major damage to your body.

I just replaced one of my injectors, got it from Cummins, 342.00.
Dealer wanted 689.00. The industrial injectorsd in robbing anybody at a 900 price tag.
I bet they are getting them as far as the stock replacement for the same i paid and raising the price on them.

$900 + $1200 core charge = $2100 for 6
or $350 for 1

I never thought to check and see if it was leaking externally. I have a feeling I won't get that lucky. My egts were a bit higher around 650 at idle in gear and I noticed that the engine clang sounded a bit different and louder. I guess I will take off the valve cover this weekend and check it out. Thanks for the input.

His injector is leaking fuel into the crankcase. Probably a cracked injector body.
Pull the valve cover. Start the engine. Shield/protect yourself from high pressure spraying fuel. Remove the rail pressure sensor. Rail pressure will go to 25,000+ PSI and you should be able to see which injector is cracked.
Removing the exhaust manifold will show nothing because the fuel probably isn't leaking into the crankcase via the cylinder.
It could also be the front seal on the CP3.
