Is this right?
Sorry to ask another maybe obvious question, but i was told that when running around on weekends, my truck would be better off, and my mpg's would improve if I put 500-1000lbs in the bed so my engine would be able to work like it was built to instead of laggin just the truck around, is this accurate?
Smell some BS. True, your truck will perform better when broken in but a few pounds in the bed will not do a thing for you. Break in will require some real work like towing a heavy trailer for some distance. Lot of old wifes tails out there.
Heck if I know....the last gasses I bought ...they said “don’t baby it...drive it like you normally will and the computer will learn to adjust" so I taped a brick on the go fast pedal ....
well, I have about 72K on th truck, and haul ALOT of weight, was tkt'd for too much very recently, and empty long trips I get EXCELLENT mpg's, so I just had to ask, good point on the smell
I just drive mine like I drive anything else.Sometimes it works hard, sometimers not.I never worried about breakin with a load, tow etc.I just took it easy for first 500 plus miles and then drive as usual.
