06 Clutch

I just traded (actually Dodge bought my 05 3500 SRW back from me under the lemon law) for a 06 2500 Mega Cab. One thing I have noticed is the clutch in the 2500 is alot "softer" than the 05 3500. Has anybody else noticed this? Just wandering?

Did you have the NV5600 in your 05 or the G-56? But I do notice my clutch is kinda easy on the leg.

My guess the 05 had an NV5600 single and the 06 has a G56 dual mass. Reverse on the NV I think is over and up and on the G56 it is tords you and down.

Sorry it took a while to answer your questions...........

I had an 05 with the G56 transmission. So the trans is the same as my 06. It clutch just seems easier on the 06 than the 05. I really liked the 05 even tho it was a "stiffer" clutch.

As far as the buy back. It had a severe hard start problem. Along with the smoke and extra's that go with the hard start. Had it in the shop 7 times. Went from the dealer to the distric rep to the engineer over all the distric reps (flew in) to take a look at it. I done my research pretty well on the state laws and we had a few minor peeing contest but all in all it worked out in my favor. So to answer your question......."how hard was it to get them to lemon law it"............not hard, just had to be persistent and patient!! Which I lost a few time's !! But I guess they figured I wasnt going to give up. It also helped when I saved the reps cell phone number when he called me. I would call him back directly on his cell phone, even while he was on vacation!!

They traded with me and I ended up with an 06 MC cheaper than my 05 QC. That was even after I paid a useage fee (allowable by state law, but not the max they could charge) and a differnce in MSRP for the upgrade from QC to MC. They also replaced all the add on's that I had put on my 05 (inner fenders, tented windows, ventshades....ect).

Im at a loss. I see no reason why one clutch would be stiffer than another other than an 05 to 06 change. But it is good stuff that they bought the truck back.

I could be wrong. But I think the 05 has the Getrag tranny and the 06 has the medium duty mercedes tranny in it. Thus the 06 tranny is a better tranny and easier to shift.

I know its hard to get used to. In my 05 when the clutch disengaged you were moving and pulling whatever was hooked to you. In the 06 it seems like you gotta slip the clutch a little.
