Squeaky clutch pedal = new clutch master cylinder under warranty!

I originally drove my truck off the lot in January of this year, when temperatures are generally in the 20's and 30's. As the weather warmed, I noticed my clutch pedal starting to squeak a bit. I called the dealer and they said "Yeah, we see a lot of that as it gets warmer. Next oil change, remind us and we'll lube it."

This morning was the next oil change, and the paperwork claimed they'd lubed it - yet it squeaked more afterwards than before I dropped it off. I had the service tech come out and try it for himself, which eventually led to three people being under the dash of my truck including the head training tech. He finally called it - "we'll just replace the entire clutch master cylinder".

I wish it had stayed quiet, but kudos to the dealer for taking good care of me and giving me ZERO hassles about what some might consider a minor cosmetic annoyance. Not to me - I've gotten very tired of that squeak and I'm glad they're stepping up to do the right thing.

I wish my dealer would get with the program. My clutch has been squeaking since 2K miles. Every oil change I have them put it on the work order to lube the linkage/clutch rod. The dang thing hangs up when you release it. Glad you got some help.

Dang...my squeaks too. I wasn't worried too much about it, but perhaps I should address it. My wife has been complaining...

This website pays off yet again!

Mine squeeked at 30K miles so I stopped at a dealer in California and he said the slave cylinder was going. It would squeek and the pedal would stick on the way up. It was getting harder and harder to push in the clutch.

They replaced the slave cylinder and then it went bad again at 59K, so I went to the dealer and what do you know, it's not under warranty with the 7/70 warranty, so it ran around $425.00 to get it replaced.

If your clutch squeeks, get them to check that slave cylinder. It's a royal pain to have to keep getting it repaired, but it's even worse when you try to let up on the clutch slowly and then have it engage to quickly and jump.

Lubing won't fix'er.

I just dropped mine off at the dealer (the parts finally arrived). They said they were replacing the master cylinder - the one actuated by the clutch pedal. I believe the slave is the one that actuates the clutch mechanism down below. True? False?

true!!! and is more than likely the cause of the problem, but a slave cylinder can give the same problems, minus the squeaky pedal
