05 taking too long to start
I have been reading and researching for several hours, and I'm sorry if this is redundant. I have an 05 that sounds like it has the same symptoms that a lot of 03s have. It started out once or twice a week, but now its everyday. The truck just takes too long to start. I bought it used about 6 months ago with 27,000 miles on it from an individual. I talked to him about it and he said its always done it since new. He took it to the dealer a couple of times, and they told him there was nothing wrong, that sometimes Cummins just do that. The truck now has 48,000 miles and it seems to be getting progressively worse.

There is a reflash for long cranks, I wonder if they did that at the dealership. My dads did that and the dealership told him the same thing, until he brought the TSB in. http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2006/18-003-06.htm

there is a cold start/long crank re-flash from dodge. i have my own suspicions that the re-flash actually covers up the symptoms of one or more injectors leaking down. many people who get the re-flash (myself included) find that the symptoms slowly start coming back, and that they have injectors leaking down. a bad pressure relief valve can also cause the long crank/hard start problem
