04.5 Cummins hard knock and smoke throwing codes

Got a 04.5 cummins and was driving it home when all of a sudden it started a hard hard knock (extremely loud). Immediately shut it off and towed it home. Anyways it's smoking white bad and knocking. Got codes p0201 p0202 p0203 p0204 p0205 p0206. I took valve cover off and unhooked each injector and started truck each time and knock never went away. Unplugged the fca and it didn't change anything. I dont know why to do next??? HELP!!

Did you check oil level in it? Check your intake plumbing for oil from a blown turbo seal? If it's a hard knock it's quite possibly a rod bearing failure or main bearing too.

oil is good. But why would I be getting a code from all 6 injectors if it's a bearing?

I suspect the codes are from when you unhooked each injector. Can you check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge?

Remove the oil filter and open it up. Check for metal particles. If no metal, there is a good chance that the knock is not bearing related. Any metal that shows up in the filter is unfortunately $$$$.

Check the water level? Don't think this is the problem, but maybe a blown head gasket?

Keep us posted on what you find.

So you checked it with a mechanical gauge or your making an assumption based on the instrument panel? What was the mechanical gauge reading?

Have you found the cause of the knock in your engine?
