Requesting Assistance For Friends 06 Random Dead Pedal.

Hello all.
A family friend has owned an 06 for several years and has been plagued with this issue starting soon after he purchased the truck (used).

The Truck:
2006 - All Stock - no chips (Unknown if previous owner chipped it or not).
Automatic trans
400k+ miles.

The Issue:
Since owning this truck it will randomly produce a dead pedal condition.
This will often occur at freeway speeds but may happen during any driving condition.
While driving, the truck will drop to an idle and accept no manual input from the accelerator pedal.
For a while, he would simply pull to the side of the road, turn the truck off, wait a while (Several minutes) and re-start the truck.
It would then idle rough, he would turn the truck off and immediately restart it and all would be fine.
Recently, he purchased a tool to reset the codes.
Now when this occurs, he simply pulls to the side of the road, reset the codes and keeps going.
Some times, this occurs within a month of each other. It then may go for 8 - 10 months with no issue, very random.
I have asked for the specific codes, but do not have them at the time of this post.
However, the owner reports that it is always the same error(s) and has something to do with "Electrical Signal Fault" and is always on the #3 or #6 injector.

Corrective Action To Date:
New computer.
New batteries and cables
New valve cover wiring loom

Any ideas, checks, recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks.
Rich.

Friend contacted me today with more specifics.
The error message reads:

Open circuit #3 injector harness "A"

Any ideas or direction is appreciated.

I'd ohm the injectors, he may be flirting with the ohm threshold on the solenoid, I'd expect to see P2146 or P2149 as a stored code though. I assume his code is P0203?

I'd also check for the chafed wire near the compressor, I think it's pinned here somewhere. Chafed wire will cause driveability issues.

I have mentioned the chafed wire issue near the compressor. I believe he is looking into that issue.
I am waiting to get a list of codes and will pass them along as soon as I get them.
Thanks for the input, much appreciated.
