Angry 03 4X4 Front Wheel bearing

Right front wheel bearing making noise. Has movement by hand. Question??? Shouldn't this be covered by the powertrain warranty. Local dealers say no, but with only 46K I think it should be. Anybody ever had any luck with Dodge picking up the tab?

Okie,
I had mine replaced at 43k miles to the tune of $1300. I do agree they should be covered, but unfortunately they're not. Good luck

03 4X4 Front wheel bearing

Not a warranty item. No extended warranty.2nd owner. Call the 1-800 to double check. Tried hard saying attach to axle end, ie axle bearing. No luck Part 361.00 from dealer only and $150.00 labor. Lesson learned.

The unit bearing is considered a wear item and is not covered under warranty. The Fords are the same way. That's why I'll be doing the Dynatrac conversion the first time one fails.

I just done the Dynatrac conversion as a PREVENTATIVE maintenance service
and because I despise the full time operation and its wimpy design so I have
a couple of good unit bearings with 28k miles if anyone is interested in some for cheap.

Red face

Thanks All

Truck back home with new bearing and fresh brake job. Total for all $850.00. Not the dealer. Just in case you have it done. Luckly the ABS senor ring in on the hub assembly and came with the new part.

I don't think they have their kit available for the 3g trucks yet although
it is due out soon. Are all of the components U.S. made or are they using
imported pieces ?

I have spoken to Eric at EMS...he hopes to have his 3rd Gen kits ready in a month or so...and his price point is projected to be much nicer than Dynatrac's. I'm not sure about the origin of the parts, but I know some of them he has to make. I believe that he said he was going to use Warn hubs, but I'm not positive of that. I'm kinda on his waiting list...i.e....my truck is broken and I'm waiting for him to get something together so I can try it out.

He has to use Warn Premium hubs or nobody will by them. Nobody else out there makes anything worth buying (except maybe Milemarker).
