Re-pack front wheel bearing 2008 Dodge 4x4

The front wheel bearing on a 2008 Dodge Ramm 3500 4x4 sealed, so that you can't re-pack them?

And they aren't cheap when they decide to go out.

Since 94, to be exact.
All modern trucks are using unit bearings.

Because they are sealed you can't "traditionally" re-pack them but you can remove the ABS sensor and add grease that way. Mine have right at 300k miles on them and they are just fine....added grease twice in 9 yrs.

Beware of replacing the unit bearing with cheap Chinese knock-offs that the auto parts stores have been selling for a couple years for about $120.
Many are broken right out of the box, the rest hardly ever make it 10k miles.
Expect to pay $175- $200 for good ones.
Unit bearings are one of the few parts I've found where the dealer price is competitive.

Dealer is where I will go for mine as I have seen firsthand what the cheaper units are like. Lucky to get 20K miles. My only other consideration outside of the dealer unit bearings would be a free spin hub kit.
I have read about folks adding grease with success.

I've seen a thread somewhere where a guy doing his hubs installed a grease zerk. I'll see if I can find the link. It was a clever modification.

Edit - here's one LINK

If the bearings are sealed it's questionable whether grease will get to the bearings or not, if there just shielded then grease will eventually get there.

Ideally if you could pop off the inner seal/shield then the zerk would work great.

no matter what it's not gonna hurt nothing.
