XRF track bar
XRF track bar
Well it looks like my 96 is almost ready for a new track bar, and I am looking at options. The replacement I am most familiar with has been the MOOG. I have always used their track bar on customer vehicles as the ball joint on it is almost twice the size of the OEM one, making me think it is a stronger, longer lasting replacement.
So, I have no problem buying the MOOG track bar, but the latest and greatest suspension company on this forum today seems to be XRF. They have a good warranty and are cheaper than MOOG. They do make a track bar for these trucks, but from the picture I don't know if the ball joint is any beefier than OEM. I haven't contacted them yet but wanted to ask if anyone had tried their track bar, or seen it, and had any comments.
Thanks,
TF

I went thru a couple of them..(every 3-4 months) my truck is used commercially though. so for a normal truck it "should" be OK.
maybe look into a lindstad bar or ends (kinda like a lukes link cept its weld on). way cheaper than a 3rd gen bar and bracket, I would have tried this except I found out about it after I had already installed my 3rd gen bar

Why not make your own ? Take the stock one and chop off the ball joint end. Weld on some chromoly tube for the urethane bushings. Chop out the stock mount and then bolt on a couple tabs onto the bushings and weld it to the frame where the stock mount use to be. The hardest part was chopping out the old frame mount.
