XRF Balljoints

Why does XRF not put grease fittings into the upper balljoints on our trucks?

Try this item # on ebay 180450922878 They quoted me $56 each + shipping fron XRF.The lowers are greaseable tops are not and I posted here to find out why.The answer I got from XRF was not real good at all.I guess from my reading these are the way to go unless you wanna spend $600.I also read Moogs are not very good. The ebay price seems to be the best I can find right now.

I'm about with you sallyman....I test drove a 10 F$%D Lariat V10!!!
But from what I've seen on thier forums, their front ends aren't much better as far as bearings and such go.

XRF joints are the way to go unless you want to spend some coin on Carli or Dynatrac! They are priced good and last a while to, i have a set on order right now!

Bumpytruck,
What was the answer that you did get about the top joints not being greaseable. You say it wasn't good?

Mike

i've got 250000 km on the factory joints and they are still relatively tight. Gotta be how or where you drive. Do you do a lot of dry steering, are you out in the bush? Are they gone or did someone tell you they were gone. If so find a new mechanic.

This is my experience too. Dodge allows quite a bit of play in these, and as long as they are within this spec there is no problem. Many people seem to be told that ANY play is bad, and it's simply not the case. Ball joints on many vehicles come from the factory with a certain amount of play engineered into them, and the suspension on those vehicles is designed to work with that. The alternative is aftermarket ball joints like Moog that are so tight the steering won't return to center by itself after you go around a corner.
