Whats it worth?
If this isn't in the right spot, I apologize. Friend has a 96 regular cab, auto with lift and 37s and stacks. He has slid the plate, turned the smoke screw and installed trans temp gauge and pyrometer. The truck has 100k miles and isn't pulled much at all. What would this be worth ball park? He is trying to sell it and I'm entertaining the thought of buying it. Need to add that he was looking to get $9,000 for it. I appreciate any information. Thanks

If it's a 4x4, $9,000 isn't to bad considering you know it's history of mods, and has such low miles. Around here I couldn't seem to find any dodge cummins for less than $12k no matter what year, 94'+ of course. Finally got mine for $8500 and got a pretty good deal, i'm swapping in a 5spd so it will be more like $11,000, but i'm keeping this thing for along time.

Well 9000 might be about right. The thing with mods are that in some peoples eyes they add value, while in other peoples eyes it lowers the value and screams Ive been beat and abused. The good thing is that you know the guy so you know how its been taken care of. Offer 8k and see what he says

Thanks for the replies guys. I will probably offer him $7500-$7800 and I want him to take off the lift and tires. I think that is a fair price considering I would be giving $1000 worth of tires and whatever the lift cost him back to him. Its an auto and 4wd also. I would prefer manual, but it is what it is. A local diesel specialist slid the plate and turned the screw for him so I know its a safe tune. I would probably adjust the timing, put some 33s or 35s on it with a leveling kit, 3k gsk, and put in a built tranny eventually and call it good.
Thank you

The truck looks great with the 4" lift and 37s, but I don't consider it practical for hauling seed corn with my old man, so I'd want to remove it. The funny thing is that the guy wants to get an 01 to replace it. He bought this 96 with 38K miles on it 2-1/2 years ago for $10,000. I wish I would've found it then!
