stupid alarm problem

stupid alarm problem

ok i think i put it off long enuf <br>my batteries died <br>could not jumpstart the sucker <br>so we pulled it home about half a mile<br>and the alarm goes off while were pulling ???<br>and the alarm wont stay off &gt;<br>so i cut the power to the horn of the alarm <br>got new batteries put them in <br>now the truck wont start without pushing the unlock button on the remote [undecided]<br>thanks

I'm not sure if this a factory alarm or aftermarket? ???<br>Have you tried hooking the wire back up to the alarm, now that you have installed good batteries? If the horn comes on when you hook the wire back up,,,, try to acknowledge it by turning on the ignition and starting the truck. I was thinking that maybe the alarm controler is sensing that the horn has been disabled and thinks it has been tampered with so it won't start until you confirm &quot;Hey,,, I'm the owner&quot; by pressing the button on the remote. <br> I'm just guessing at this, since I have had no problem with the alarm on my 99. Maybe someone else who knows more about it will chime in.
