Squeaking while moving

Need help solving a constant squeaking problem whenever the truck is moving. A little bounce in the road and I hear several squeaks. Seems like rubber squeaks throughout front end and also sounds like under the cab. Turning the radio volume up only helps a little.
My truck is a 96 2wd long bed with 158,000 miles.
On a 66 Nova, I had to replace all of the front end bushings. Is it the same with my truck? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ken

I've had mixed success with using silicone spray on every bushings I coud find. If it was rubber, it got flooded with it. Could also try PB catalyst on all the rubber bushings. Good luck, Kevin

Do a search on squeak... this topic has been covered severel times. I'm guessing you have an automatic transmission because that is the most common squeek. Its a rubber bushing on the shift linkage. I have to spray lube on mine about every oil change to keep it from coming back.

Re:Squeaking while moving

The "fix" i've been using for this is to put a section of fuel line on the shift link and hold it in place with two fat zip ties. Cut the piece so that it fits tight enough to put pressure on the plastic bushing. I have several customers who have been completely satisfied with this mod. I did it to my truck back in March when I bought it and it's been quiet since. There are other techs who install a new link and bushing but that is a pain in the butt and I haven't seen that it actually corrects the prob. I'll try to post a pict since it's a balmy 65 degrees down here.

I've got it too and it's maddening! Can you point me to the vicinity of the bushing? I've lubed all of the linkage points, but can't seem to find the right one.

Re:Squeaking while moving

j-body, if u could post a pic that would be great. i looked but cant seem to find the shift linkage bushing yall are talking about.

i pretty much blasted all the bushings on the front suspension with silicone spray and that really didnt make a difference.... i swear it still sounds like its coming from down there though.

thanks
jeff

Dont use silicone. It doenst work when you subject it to heat or weather.

Re:Squeaking while moving

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried lubing the door jams, trans linkage and removed the front sway bar and greased the bushings. Still a problem.
I had a friend jump up and down on the front end and isolated the squeak to the upper control arm bushings. There is no grease nipple and I hate to remove springs and upper control arms since the ball joints are fine.
Has anyone drilled into the control arm and installed a grease fitting to lube the bushings? I don't know if it's a good idea.
Thanks.
