Moving timing sensor while running?

Ok, I know this sensor things has been beat to death but I did install mine last night and set it for full advance. I really do think it helped some and it may sound a little different at idle. My question is, would it hurt anything to move it while the engine is running if for nothing more than to listen to the idle sounds? I am one of those guys that likes to no something made a change no matter how little it is.

Ofcourse, I always set the timing on my race car while its is running as that the way we do it, but I am totally new to diesels. Would it hurt anything?

thanks guys

Just watch your fingers and put parking brake on, you would not want to run your self over.

Yeah, I am pretty sure I don't want that.

Like I said, I just like to mess with stuff. Didn't think it could cause any harm, but thought I would ask. So far it seems like the truck idles much better.

thanks

Doing something like that is why there are warning labels on everything we buy now!!!!! One slip, and you'll have to change your member name to "Lefty"!!!!

Ok, guys. I hear ya. I have looked under there a hundred times already and yes, there is always that possibility of hurting ones self as there is in anything we do. Looks like plenty of room to start with the sensorin the retarded position and just push it up and listen to the engine as it does. Guess I like to play.

thanks
