Thanks for the suggestion! I checked it out on Amazon and the only drawback seems to be that it is slightly expensive. How long would you say it lasts? For instance, if I treat the underside of my truck at this time of year, how long would you expect it told last in the snow and salt of norther NY before I have to retreat it?

Most people apply it annually…FYI, it is lanolin based and smells a little funny, but works GREAT for all sorts of metal protection--

I live in the Pacific Northwest on the coast, we have salt air but not salted roads. I think seafish has good advice for the shocks. I have sprayed corrosionX under my truck and noticed it stays on a long time, even on our winter trips to Montana...

Oh, if that is your stock starter, don't core it. You can get a rebuild kit for it and make it better than a new one. It has bigger contacts and armature and is an easy rebuild. If you search it you will get a ton of info on it....

I currently have some corrosion x hd on the truck that I am testing out, I also got some fluid film and am testing that too. I am just worried about having to reapply it after washing the salt off the truck during the winter.

Unfortunate it is not my stock starter :-( I get a new free one from advance auto though at least. The PO replaced it shortly before he sold it to me but at least he gave me the receipt.

I got the shocks on by the way. They are very nice. The truck seems A LOT more stable :-)

Sweet. I always appreciate a mod I can feel more than the others that I can't, like quality filters or an oil change etc.
