outside temp sensor

outside temp sensor

anyone know what "oc" on the overhead compass and temp teller means? thanks, compass works fine but no temp reading

From the '98 manual:
"An “OC” (open
circuit) will appear in the display in place of the temperature,
when the sensor is exposed too temperatures
below -40° C (-40° F), or if the sensor circuit is
open.


Look for a loose connection or bad ground first.

living on the california coast we don't often get to -40 so i'll assume that my sensor is faulty, anyone know where it's located? thanks

Clipped to the inside of the grill on the '98. Raise the hood and look for the wire leading to it.

Before you buy any parts, there are diagnostic processes to assure that the parts are needed. Let me know if you need them.

I have a similar problem can you tell me what the diagnostic processes is? My problem is under Overhead council temo gone crazy or smething like that.

checked my wiring today, everything was tight, unplugged sensor and checked for any shorting or corrosion, none, what's next
