hey guys,

check gauges light just came on. oil gauge went to zero and i have noticed the past few days, my fuel gauge has not been working right (right now i have gone 500 miles since last fill and it says half tank!)

any suggestions? can i fix this myself?

Could you give us some details about your truck, year, mods, etc?

check battery, alternator, fuses

 

You might want to try and see if you can pull any code(s).

'01 2500 4x4 24v - stock.

i changed the front brakes this past weekend... other than that - nothing.

can ya'll refresh me on the code thing.... i know you are supposed to turn the key a few times, but i am not sure of the sequence.

With the key in the ignition, turn it on without starting the truck, back to the "off" position three times and after the third time leave the key in the "on" position. Any codes will appear in your
odometer field.

Sounds like your oil pressure sender has died.

Thats what the 0522 one is, the other is the companion code telling you there's a code.

I'll let others chime in on the best places to get a new sender, and the replacement procedure.

dealer just quoted me $210 for this part. cummins says "no longer available".

there has got to be another option!
