keyless entry

how do you ptogram new remotes to work with a keyless entry on a 1999 2500 slt? i bought the truck a few months ago and noticed that when you hit 15 mph the doors lock so i got some remotes but the owners manual didnt tell me much.

A trip to the dealer is in order. You have to use the DRB scan tool.

You have to have onethat is alrready programmed in order to program any others. The owners manual wasn't real clear about that. The truck is actually programmed to the remote instead of the remote being programmed to the truck.
