fuel pressure guage

Hey all!, let me first say what a great site. I was on TDR for a few years and learned alot there, but this seems to be just as good if not better. I was wondering about a my fuel press guage. I am on my 2nd lift pump and 2nd injector pump. I decided to get a fuel pressure gauge installed when i got the injector pump installed. Problem is that the gauge will indicate all is well (14 psi @ idle, 12ish when holding 65-70 mph), but then it will just drop down to somewhere between 7-10 and stay there for awhile. Sometimes it will come back up on its own, other times if I give it a little throttle, it will jump back up to where it needs to be. There is no change in performance when this happens. It almost feels like it is a bad gauge and not a fuel problem. Has this happened to anyone else?

Is it an electric gauge? If not, are you using an isolator. Both of those are known to go bad.
