Front suspension problems
Front suspension problems
I used to like to drive my truck, but now it's not fun anymore. I have 55,000 miles on it and now it has bumpsteer and every bump in the road feels like a hole big enough to swallow the tires
I know the stock shocks were junk from the factory but I have been putting off getting new ones until I install my 2 1/2" longer front coil springs to level it out. Are shocks my only problem, or are there worn parts in the front end already? If so, does my warantee cover any hard parts, minus shocks, of course? I know I need to jack it up and it look at it myself, I was wondering if other members have experienced this. Thanks

I'm sure it's time for shocks. Phox, my front end is 4" lower than my rear and the bed of my truck is threatening to hit my 5th wheel, at times. Bringing the front up will help level out the truck and lessen the chance I'll be doing damage to the bed of my truck. And yes, it bumpsteers
Cstmfabman, I think 2.5" may be too much. I did mine and went 2". I can't get my caster within specs, which is really no big deal ... the truck rides wonderfully with no abnormal tire wear. The front of my truck was sagging so bad that my tires (265's) were rubbing in the wheel wells, now the truck sits nice and level. I used CSS springs and KYB MonoMax shocks. I can post a pic if you would like?
