Good eveneing all.
It is now time for me to replace both fenders due to heavy rust.
Can anyone give me an idea on what to expect when taking things apart.

I shall probably start in mid July. Once I start I will try to take some pics.
I obtained the complete passenger side fender from a scrap yard and the drivers side from a place in Ontario but it does not have the inner portion.

The inner and outer front fender are spot welded together, I think.
Or are you talking about the plastic inner wheel "cover"
Maybe the junk yard cut the inner off so they could leave all the factory wiring and such there.
The drivers side has tons of stuff on it you have to remove to get the fender out- relays, fuse box, battery tray, ABS sensor.
I have taken a few off while parting them out.

my suggestion would to find a decent one at a salvage yard that has the inner and outer already welded together. they are spot welded if memory is right there is alot of small spot welds. i would think if you could find a decent replacement this would save some time
You can probably order new ones from www.lmctruck.com

I can't remember how many spot welds...But is was a few....I would say aleast 20 spot welds attaching the wheel well to fender...But it didn't take that long...used a body saw and angle grinder...
