Dodge stinks!
There is another thread on here about cracked dash's that I posted responses to. Last summer I callled Chrysler and they gave me a trouble ticket number and let me talk to a senior rep and he told me to go to a dealer and get the dash looked at. Only problem was the dealer wanted $85 to "assess my dash was cracked" and my paperwork and emails from Chrysler was not considered. I figured I could buy another dash for close to that so I said no thanks.
Called this week to see if anything could be done and they didn't want to open a ticket and just said....not under warrenty anymore.
I just would like to see Chrysler be consistent on this issue, not cover some trucks and not others. My truck is a 97 with 213k miles so I can see a reason not to cover it but why do others get it done?
I'm gonna get the dash cover and then buy the dash and replace it myself. Oh...I still love this truck and would probably buy another some day.

Not too long ago I'd been reading the threads about cracked dashes and how DC replaced them even out of warranty. So I thought I would give it a try but went to the dealership first since it was close by.
I walk into the parts dept and said "I would like a price on a new dash" just to get the conversation started and the parts guy said "you must have a dodge" (Ford & Dodge dealer) and I said yes. He tells me that I might want to sit down because the dash alone was $1005 dollars.
I basically turned around and hit the door running and screaming that was highway robbery and I would trade the ole girl in before I pay that. Anyway, long story short I have one of these http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....er=DASHTOP-998 in my shop ready to install as soon as the weather warms up.
Oh yeah, does anyone know if the VIN will have to be removed and installed on the new Genos dash or is it cut away so that it shows?

I think every manufacturer has issues. It just matter or which issues you can live with and which issues you'd rather not have. Go to Ford truck forum, I'm sure you'll find plenty of things that **** off owners.
