Automatic Door Locks
Automatic Door Locks
Any way to disable this feature, I live in area where we don't lock anything up and these auto locks at 15 mph are frustrating. Move from one side of ranch to another, go to open pass door and locked, got to walk around to other side to get in cause the driver door was last one used.
Re:Automatic Door Locks
Yeah, that auto-lock stuff is annoying. I found the procedure to kill it in my owner's manual. I don't have the manual handy, but I can look it up for you later if you don't have one, just let me know.
Re:Automatic Door Locks
Dodge went with that annoying feature in the newer models? I hate that. Next thing you know, they'll be automatically turning your lights on like a Chevy. >

I like the automatic door locks. I carry the Keyless entry clicker in my pocket at all times. If the door is locked that will open it.............unless, you left the motor running.

I run with my headlights on all the time - safety issue. Wish they worked automatically like GM.

Wouldn't have a GM though........ ;D

So now we have a bunch of cars on the road running around with 30% headlights at night. Dangerous.

You should be able to disable the autolock (or rolling lock)feature with the following procedure: (it worked on my 2001 at least)...

1) Close all doors
2) Place the key in the ignition and cycle the key from the OFF position to the ON position 4 times ending in the ON POSITION (without starting the truck)
3) Press the drivers side power door lock switch to the LOCK position within 30 seconds
4) You should hear a single chime. Your rolling locks should now be deactivated.
5) The same steps should reactivate them if so desired.

Hope it works for u.

Re:Automatic Door Locks
Just so some don't get confused: My "automatic" door lock and the "keyless" entry are aftermarket and work a little different than the factory locks. As mentioned the "keyless" will not work with the engine running, (wish it did) also the "automatic lock" works when the engine is started instead of after the truck is rolling...gets to be a nuisance as I often start the truck before my wife gets in, forget to unlock the door and she has to knock for me to let her in. ;D She really gets unhappy if I start the truck, don't unlock her door and get out of the truck. Aaaahhhhhh, the life of a poor man. :-[
