anti-theft switch
If you don't mind losing the use of your cigarette lighter you can wire it in series with your clutch pedal switch. If the cigarette lighter isn't pressed in, the ECM thinks your clutch isn't depressed and the engine won't crank. Very simple, very cheap and very effective.
This isnt electrical and I dont know if the mechanics will work. But the slickest anti-theft I think I ever saw was on a four speed Ford. If you put the truck in 1st gear and the 4 wheel drive lever all the way towards the rear the two sticks come very close to each other. Weld a heavy ring to each so they line up. Drop a padlock through the rings. Nobodys going far in 1st gear low range.

That is pretty slick.
One idea I've read here is to pull fuse # 9 in the power distribution box. IIRC that is the fuse for ECM power or fuel system (VP44) power. Without fuse 9 the engine will crank but never start.
Couldn't you just put a switch in-line with the clutch switch? Meaning, if your switch is set to off, it doesn't matter if you push the clutch or not, the ECM will think the clutch is not pushed and the starter will not engage. Once your added switch is turned on, the 'push to start' clutch will operate as normal.
Wouldn't help in a rolling start, clutch pop situation though. But a would be theif probably would think your battery was dead and run-off.
