Trackbar question
I'm about ready to put my 3rd gen trackbar conversion on my truck, and I was wondering if you guys think I'd be ok going with a factory style trackbar or if I need to go with an adjustable one. My truck has a leveling kit in front which I'm assuming is close to 2" (not sure, it had that on when I bought it) so I'm not sure how much that actually throws the axle off center with a solid track bar. I wouldn't think it would be that much. I'd like to go with the factory style cause I can get it from my local dealer for $198 which is a lot cheaper than going with an adjustable one and money is kinda tight these days. Besides, it makes things much less complicated

For that money get the NAPA lifetime one. Mine has given up and after investigating all the 'track bar' posts on this site it sounds like the Thuren is the way to go. its not a whole lot more than a stocker. My dealer wants 289.00 for a 2nd gen track bar w/ 1 year warranty.

I had the non-adjustable 3rd gen trackbar on mine when the suspension was stock. During the install I had to pull the axle about 3/4 in to the driver's side to get everything to fit. Didn't have any problem but when I put a 3" leveling kit on the truck, I also installed an adjustable trackbar from solid steel(it is really well made). My take is that a 2" front lift is right at the limit for the non-adjustable trackbar. I you haven't purchased the trackbar yet then I suggest going for the adjustable one. If you already have the trackbar then I'd suggest you go ahead and try it. If you don't have to pull the axle more then 1" to the side then you will probably be OK.
