Not trying to start another thread about the dashes, just wondering if there is anything on the market proven to help these things out. Got my first dodge ever that does not have a cracked dash. Would like to keep it that way.

My truck sits outside all day every day, temps can reach over 100 in the summer (black truck/dark interior, I'm sure it pegs above 120 inside) and below zero in the winter and the dash is perfect. I swear stuff like "amorall" etc. does something to make the plastic brittle. I've only used a damp rag when it's time to clean it.

Well don't know if the lack of treatment helps or not, I'm sure my truck has never seen such being a company owned service truck. The dirt was so thick on the dash I can't imagine how the sun got to it to crack it all to he11!

FWIW, Mercedes recommends this stuff. It also has a good reputation on several boards.

the 02 with almost 200k before the rebuild and I have used Armor-all all the time. for 4 years of its life was spent in Missouri, hot heat, and cold winters. ??? with all of the talk out there of other people I think its hit or miss. people in moderate climates get cracked dashes to. starting to wonder if its the way they are made. maybe a bad soluction mix on the plastic once and a while and this is later seen with hit or miss broke dashes.. for about 35$ you can get a dash-mat cover. unless people chime in and say there dash-mat caused a crack...
