I'm considering adding in-dash speakers in my '03 2500. How does that panel remove? Any special tools or techniques to pop it up?

There are cutouts for 3 speakers under the dash panel. Two of them are for 3 1/2" speakers and the center speaker is a 2 1/2" speaker opening. The top of the dash snaps off, but make sure you wrap the screwdriver with a cloth or some tape so you don't scratch it.

 

Thanks for the info! I thought that's what those cutouts were for, I just today received my disk of the service manual, and looked it up there, too...

Yes, the disc is excellent. It covers all models and has all kinds of detailed instructions and diagrams.
