Are 94-02 rear windows interchangable

It looks like they go to a glue in style rear window in '98, but would an earlier rubber gasket style fit in?
Thanks
Any pointers on taking out the later style windows if they are different?

Nope. I have slider from a '97 that won't work in my '01. Checked with the local glass shop and they said it's a no go. Taking out the later ones almost guarantees broken glass according to them.

I, however, spend a bit of time hauling crushed cars out of wrecking yards and my bud Rick might be able to crush the cab with the loader and get one out for me without breaking it. I'm not sure that's possible but he's done it on gasketed ones. I haven't seen too many later Dodges but I will put a bug in his ear when I get back to work about April.

I can peel of the '94-'97 style with good results, using a mini flat bar.
You start in one bottom corner and work your way over to the other side.

I was wondering if thier is an "glass window knife" or some tool the pros use to cut the adhesive on an old window [98-02 style]. Maybe with that you could remove it whole.
I am parting two '98-'01 2500s with good sliders and I am trying to pull everything good off them before going to the crusher.
Thanks

I don't know if there is or not. The glass guys told me good luck on getting the glued ones out without breakage. Seems like there should be a way to do that. I think a heat gun would be useful. We pull left over windshields off the top cars on the loads and it sure is a whole lot easier on a hot day than when it is in the 40's.

Yes glass shops have a knife that will cut out back windows, Wreckers do it all the time when they take back windows out of cars to re-sell them. I personally have seen one removed from a Chevy and a Ford,, so if it can be done on them, then it can be done on the Dodges,, Alot of glass shops will say it cant be done,, but what they do, is remove it, tell you it broke, and install the new one,, then sell the used one after you leave

Any ideas on where I could find a "window knife". I am fiquring that NAPA might not have them in stock.
I am guessing it has to bend up and behind the glass to cut the glue.
The window wil get broken at the crusher so I don't have much to lose trying to pull them out.

Most glass tools are specialty tools, so not sure where you would find them. As for cutting out the window,, it is cut out from the inside using a tool kinda like a sawzall but with less stroke and a smooth but sharp blade that is sharp on both sides and the tip is round and is sharp as well. Most are air driven tools from what i have sen

My 96 is installed with a rubber gasket around the glass . From what i know all 94 -97 were rubber gasket and when they updated the interior they started glueing the new style window in

My build date is "1-96", but it was glued in, my cab has been crushed and repaired on the left rear corner. Maybe they couldn't get the gasket back in and glued it instead? I'm not sure of any more than that, you could be right on your years, like I said, mine should have been totaled. No telling what else is wrong with my truck.....
