2" Level + 315's = Nasty Rub

Well I put some 315's on the truck a little while ago, and I cant stand the rubbing anymore. About 3/4 of a full turn gets them to rub but at full turn the outside lip of the tire gets inside the wheel well and is fine. Worse problem is when I am turning into a lot and I hit a bump to enter it.

It is rubbing on the bottom rear corner of the fender, I cut off the body seam thinking that would help, but it didnt.

Do I need control arms? Or maybe larger spacers/springs?

Dodge 2500 - 2" Level spacers - Eagle 101B's - Maxxis Buckshots 315 - Stock Track bar and Control Arms - Pro Comp ES9000 shocks - Rear Firestone Airbags.

I bet you got the wrong backspacing on the rims for the truck brother. For sure.

You need 5-5.5" BS on the rim to make it happy. Thats why H2 rims are so popular for the trucks. they're setup just right, look great, and are cheap to get.

Agreed, it's the backspacing. Snag a set of H2's, there's still deals to be had on them.

Not trying to hijack, but what offset is wanted/needed when looking for rims?

I snagged these for a **** good deal, but I failed to check the back spacing. I guess I'll pull one off tomorrow and check it. They looked the same as the centerlines I had on before...

If the tires are rubbing on the outside of the wheel / wheel well, spacers will make the rubbing worse. The rim size may be too wide as well. 16x 8 is good but 16x 10 is too wide and you will get rub on the outside of the front wheel well. All the talk about backspacing is right on as well.

The 5-5.5" is the factory back spacing.... not the off set.

H2's rub! I still dont understand why everyone thinks they dont???? Best friend had 315's on the stockers, rubbed, H2's now on, RUB. Sometimes the fender if the situation is right, but rub the control arm the rest of the time.

Is this simply an indication that 315 are too wide for unmodified suspension?
I used to have 305s and they had no rub, ever.

Extended control arms on the lower will move the axle into the correct position.

My 315s don't rub unless you are at full lock and then they only rub a little on the inner plastic liner. I try not to drive around at full lock so it's not a problem. My H2s are the '06 Limited Edition ALCOAS, though, so they might have a slightly different backspacing....

I'll be posting pictures soon. But they rub right where the weld-seam of the fender is on the rear of the wheel well. I think control arms would help, I just didnt think I'd need them...oh well.
