Heat is the only issue and the WIF sensor is deleted. You could extend the wiring and install them in a filter base. I did this on my truck.

I took two cummins filter bases that i got from Fleet Guard Shop. I made a bracket and mounted them on the frame rail.

I then took advantage of the time to install my Vulcan Big Line Kit. I cut my fuel line by the transfer case and took 3/8 rubber fuel line to a holley blue pump. Then 1/2 fuel line from the holley blue to dual Fleetguard filter bases. I then used a Water/Fuel Seporater and then a fuel filter right after that. Then 1/2 fuel line to the Injection Pump.
