VP44 any better?
VP44 any better?
OK so the VP44 is not up to par when it comes to longevity so when your first one bites the dust and you replace it, is the replacement any better? Can we expect the replacement/rebuilt to last any longer?
In my case it was.
First VP44 lasted 4,000 miles, replacement has lasted 42,000 miles.
IMHO, remanufactured items have the problem areas addressed, so they should be better than the original.

From what I have read here ( never had to change one yet) but it seems that all or most of the bad reman ones have been reworked in the cezch republic.
But like I said I have been lucky enough to only have to read about them.

I usually see "reman in Czech" pumps which have been painted black, or the "reman in Germany" ones that are left natural. I've had at least four comebacks with the "black beauty" over the years, one only went 9 miles before it lunched itself internally. Just a little personal experience.
My father had two pumps replaced under warrenty, the second pump lasted fewer miles then the first, got about 65,000 out of the first one, then about 30,000 out of the second one, we will see how well the thrid one does
