Trouble With The BHAF

Guys, Anyone have trouble keeping the intake tube on the filter side tight? I put the BHAF on this weekend and it keeps on blowing off and I cant seem to get the worm clamp really tight on the Napa 2790, its very slippery. Any help is very appreciated

Are you clamping the filter directly to the hose??

Get a short chunk of 4" exhaust pipe or ABS and clamp the filter to that.

Yes, I'm clamping the intake hose right to the BHAF. I'll get a short piece of exhaust pipe or maybe rough up the end of the 2790 so maybe the hose will adhere better and not slip. Thanks, Dr.

hairspray worked for me, later i got a 2" piece of 4" exhaust and put that inside the filter snout and clamped the intake hose to the filter with some stiffening underneath.

That's how they do it for the Scotty Air II filters as well.

I've got a NAPA BHAF and it seems to hold on pretty good. Maybe they differ a little from brand to brand?

x2 on that. I put a piece of 4" exhaust pipe in the filter inlet, then slipped the intake hose over the filter inlet. The extra stiffness from the pipe allowed the worm clamp to snug down very tight without deforming the filter inlet. If I didn't use the pipe, the inlet would deform as the clamp got tighter and would never make a clean seal.

Using the same trick with my new Amsoil filter.
