BHAF trouble, clamp slips off

I've gone back to the stock filter box and filter. For the third time I've found the hose partly off where it clamps onto the filter. I know the clamp was tight. I wonder if its because there is no lip for it to grab.

Anyone else experieince this?

Did you mount the filter onto a chunk of ABS?

Common problem if you are mounting the filter directly onto the hose.

Hmm no I didn't. The hose fit nicely over the filter outlet so I just clamped in on there. Ok I'll pick up some exhaust or ABS. That will actually work well as it will give me somewhere to mount my sprauge tube for my propane injection.

Thanks!

I've had a BHAF for 60K miles, actually 2 during that time, and have never had one slip off the hose.

I've had both the Fleetguard one and the Napa one, both have stayed connected just fine.

I had 4" ABS on my BHAF setup on the '99 and had to retighten it every few weeks also. I could never figure out why it wouldn't loosen up on the stocker?

take a piece of 4" exhaust tubing and slice a piece off about 2" long and it will press into the inside of the filter then clamp your hose around the filter as normal, and tighten it up!
