Question T-Case removal advice?!?!

I'm geting ready to do the 5th gear fix this weekend. i dont have a trans jack to aid in the removal of the transfer case. How mush does this thing weigh? the truck isn't gonna be on a rack so it's an "on yer back" job for me. can it be removed by hand without damaging anything (output shaft in the tranny)?? i have a 3 1/2 ton floor jack but no tranny jack adapter for it

any advice would help alot.

thanks

the 241 transfer case is only like 60-75lbs the newer 271's are more like 100lbs but the transfer case isn't that bad to remove. just unbolt the drive shafts, unhook the linkage and vacuum hose. then it should be 6 nuts and pull it off.

the 271 is the third gen t-case the 241 is in the around the 2002 years so yours might be a 231 but when you pull it out there should be a metal plate on the t-case that has the information stamped in it.
