RE: Transmission problems
RE: Transmission problems
so after the weird trans problems that i posted about about 2 weeks ago i took it to amcco transmissions. they took off the transmission and opened it up to find that the steel band was coming apart and hitting the side of the drum. apparently amcco can get good heavy duty parts from a company that they use that specializes in diesels. he is rebuilding my tranny with all steel parts, putting a heavy duty torque conv, heavy duty clutch pack, shift improvement kit, and some other things that needed to be replaced like some sensors and such. he said that this will be a good tranny and i can chip it and do anything i want and it will perform well. for 3300 bucks backed by a 3 year 36000 mile warranty. what do you guys think?
he said it was a special torque convertor with an high energy fron end for lock up ( which i still am not sure what exactly lock up means) and a heavy duty clutch pack. he said it will be 3300 dollars.
Why not check out http://midatlanticdiesel.com/
? For that kind of money I'm sure Llyod Mills could set up something really nice for you.
