Pyrometer reading

Hi All
My first post here,i have been reading this forum for a couple months now.
It is verry good reading and i have picked up a lot of info here.
Now i have a question that i haven't found the answer to yet.
I have a 99 24 valve , everything stock EXECPT i got the dpp programer and have set my truck to the 50 hp setting.
I installed a pyrometer yesterday , after the turbo , and would like to know if anyone can tell me what temp i should be looking at. At 70mph it reads 600*.
How much should i be adding for the after turbo instalation, verses before turbo?
Thanks guys..........

the average temperature to add is 300 degrees for post turbo installations. How far back did you mont the pyro after the turbo?

I 've heard of some installs over a foot or more

600 seems high for a cruising temp with a 50hp increase, stock air filter?

Pyrometer reading

Sorry to be so later to get back here, been gone for a few days.
I am running a K&N air filter.
I had called the cummins shop in MPLS. and they said it was ok to use the K&N filter.
I was really surprised to hear them say that.
Also , my truck is a 5 speed manual tranny , with 411 gears.
Thanks again.
