Oil usage between changes

Just wondering how much oil usage you guys w/ 24v HO's are using between changes? I'm eating about 1 quart every 4-5K miles. No leaks, just the puke bottle. Thanks.

I'm just interested in how much I am losing to burn off. This is my first diesel and it seems to use a little more oil than my gasser's have between changes. I though my chevy's was using alot for a brand new vehicle. Turns out the dealer was only putting 5 quarts in it at every change, it takes 6! I only went there because they offered the first two years of service free. Not anymore though.

3/4 qt in 6000 miles. 70K miles on truck NO leaks or blow by at vent

This is the best oil usage yet, bought it with 50K miles,
was getting about 3.5-4k on a qt....

? just getting broken in???? or removing puke bottle ?

MPG is up also...

67,000 now. I just turned over for an oil change and checked to see and was surprised to see it down about a quart on the dipstick. Sitting cold flat and level.

133,000 and I am not adding any between changes. Changing every 3k though so who knows. slight blow by coming out of the rerouted line for the puke bottle. I ran it under the tranny so I can smell it when idling.

Oh almost forgot my truck seems to be very sensitive about being perfectly level. Seems almost a quart difference between my driveway and the street.

Mine was leaking after removing it, it was broke on the inside almost all the way around, from being over tightened, I could see it leaking near the hex, not around the gasket, I'm very lucky the head never popped off!! a trip to the dealer and 20$ later I had a new gasket and plug.
Yours might be in the same condition, you cant tell its broke till you remove the gasket

I just put a Femco drain plug on my truck. I have the usual grimy puke bottle and timing cover and some on the dampener. I clean it off at every change and it always returns. Never a drop on the ground though. I agree w/ coachgrowl about the finicky level spot. Mine reads about a quart lower when on my driveway than the actual reading when level.

I have 309,000 on my 1999. I change oil every 25,000 miles,
Usually need a quart around 12-14,000 miles and is good to go till oil change time.
