Smile need help oil pressure sensor

I Need an oil pressure sensor. Dodge want's 217.00, Cummins wants 80.00.
The question is, is there a difference. Will both of them plug in to the wiring harness. Will both of them make the gague work or will the cheper one make an idiot light out of my gage? Thanks Tig.

Buy the Cummins sensor. Dodge buys their parts from Cummins and then puts their stickers over the Cummins part number and sells them to you for more than double the price, that's how they make their money. Always, always, always buy your engine parts from Cummins.

Geez - for $50 you can get an aftermarket gauge that will read correctly!

I always buy from Cummins. As said they built and designed the parts that dodge relables and marks up. Wow only 28k on that truck of yours, thats awsome.

Thanks

Thanks Guys, I really appreciate the help. I keep hearing that you need a different kind of wiring connector to connect the cummins sensor to the stock dodge harness.

Well I've never purchased an oil pressure sensor from Cummins, so I can't say for sure. But if you buy the sensor at the Cummins dealer with your specific engine number (serial number), the sensor that they give you should be the exact same one that was on there originally. . . anyway, if the connectors are different just don't install it and take it back. . .

By the way, Scheid Diesel also sells Cummins parts, they want $90 for a sensor:

Tig,

Search for a post by me about changing the sender. I changed mine several years back and posted all the things I found when changing it. Also you do not want the $20 sender if Cummins tries to give you one. I listed the tools needed also. I would post a link but I have never gotten the hang of it.

Thanks,
Randy
