I have a 1999 Dodge 5.9 diesel and the accelerator pedal is kicking out, I can let it up and then pump it 1 or 2 times then it kicks back in. The check engine light is also on. I am pretty sure that this is my APPS. Is there anything I can do before spending $400.00 for a new one or could this maybe be something else causing this? I could use any and all help I can get on this.

Read the codes and see what comes up.

When my APPS went bad, I didn't have to pump the pedal, it would come back on by itself after a couple of seconds. Do you have a fuel pressure gage? If you are not getting fuel to the VP44, you may have stall problems. When my last factory pump went bad, the pressure would drop to about 2 psi, but I could pump the pedal and it would come back up.

If you are sure it's the APPS, read this thread and you can find out how to adjust the voltage.
