I have been trying all day to find a Cummins number for the APPS unit on an ISB-215 in my 98 Dodge Ram. I know the Dodge part number is 53031575. I was told the Cummins number was 4002066, but that is the engine speed sensor. Does anybody know the Cummins number as they won't cross reference it, they just refer you to your dealer. If I have the parts number I can get it. It seems evident that they are programmed to refer a person to the dealer as soon as they figure out you are working on a RAM.

My dad took his engine serial # to cummins when he got his from them. You might try that. It did save him a little money.

The problem is that the number on that form for the APPS is for the engine speed sensor, not the APPS (for a 3rd generation ISB 215).

 

Go to your dealer and see if they have one in stock. If they do ask to see it. A lot of times with Cummins parts they are still in the Cummins box with a Mopar sticker on it.

 

Jim a 98 isb 215 is not a 3gen it's second. I believe that this is a Dodge only part as I have one in stock and there is no Cummins part number anywhere on this part. I agree that most parts have a cummins as well as dodge part number but this must be unique to dodge. BTW correct part number changes up to a 53031575ah for automatic and 53031576ah for manual.
