Need HELP ASAP!

i Bought my truck 3-4 days ago and it runs great but at WOT around 24-2700rpm It cuts out a little kinda like a fuel filter would on a gas engine.
It doesnt smoke or anyhting and thats really the only time it does it IM hoping yall tell me its a filter and not a lift pump or inj. pump either way the car lot is paying to get fixed so whats do yall think it is?

its a 5spd btw

All stock as far as i can tell with 222k

Start with a fuel pressure gauge. You should install one anyway. Awful cheap insurance.

Changing all the filters and oil would be a good start anyway with a new to you truck. Did you get it at a dealer or know the previous owner?

Also, make sure your aware of the bleeding procedure before you open the filter housing up. It can be a bear to restart if your not aware of how to bleed the air out.

I bought the truck from a dealer I know, i spoke to the original owner and he said he never had any problems and was a real good truck ( go figure)
If i end up changing the filter instead of getting it done sense it the dealer will pay for it what are the Bleeding Instructions? Also is there a way to tell if the LP is stock or not? where is it located at or look like? Im a 12v man these 24v are pita's.

Drain the filter bowl, open the filter bowl and take to a bench. Remove filter, clean the bowl and replace the orings. Make sure you change all orings. Sometimes they can stay in place and two rings stacked don't seal very well.

Fill the bowl somewhat and replace.

The bump the starter but don't start it. You should hear the lift pump running. I usually do this twice. A FP gauge would be handy right about now so you can see the pressure build.

I usually crack the outlet line on the filter, then bump the starter. Air will get pushed out and you close it back when fuel spews everywhere.

Sometimes this will be enough, sometimes you'll need to also crack and injector or two and crank a bit till fuel spews out of the lines.

It helps to have a buddy to cut the key when fuel starts spewing. When you do get it going, it'll run rough till all the air get purged. The fuel system can be divided into three areas. Tank to lift pump, lift pump to IP, IP to injectors. If you bleed in that order, it usually works well. I've never had to crack a line yet at the back of the IP but sometimes you might have to.

Air does not work well in these systems and can become locked in place.

You'd probably know it if an aftermarket lift pump has been installed. A FASS is fairly lound I I recal. Usually aftermarket pumps are frame mnounted. A factory replacment may look just like factory.

I'll stress again to get a FP gauge. Your truck will still run with a weak/bad lift pump, but will take out a $2000 plus IP. Hopefully I've spelled that out corectly and without too many typo's. You might consider carrying a spare filter and the tools to change and bleed with if you get too far away from home. One tank full of fuel/water mix from a station with bad tanks can leave you sitting on the road very unhappily.

a stock truck will start to defuel at ~2700 rpm like a soft rev limiter on a gasser motor. computer controlled, but it can be eliminated with several of the aftermarket programmers and modules.
