just need bolt pattern help ASAP
there are a set of 17" wheels going off on Ebay that i want off a 2003, 2500 ,8 lug . mine is a 95 with 16" 8 lugs. Are the bolt patterns the same ?? he has them advertised as 8X6.5" but I thought i saw another guy selling a set that he bought for an earlier truck saying that they would not fit ?? lotta money to spend for wheels that won't fit , thanx , DAVE

Welcome to the site crossy,
My guess is that even it the bolt pattern is the same,,,, they will not fit. The reason is the brake drums are bigger in diameter on your truck. I know that the 2000-2002 rims will not fit on 99 or earlier due to this reason. I have read of only a couple of guys doing it and that was by turning down the outside suface of the drum on a lathe. Too much work in my opinion! I think that there is some clearance issue on the front wheel also,,, you might want to try our search function for more info. Then again,,, it may be a different story with the 17" wheels.

thanx so much , they were down to 1/2 hour but now I will surely pass on them. Heck of a deal with the Michelin E load rated tires . but I'll just call up my pal in Pa. who sells me rims at wholesale. I am thinking of Alcoa or M/T. Maybe just some white letters for my stock 16" chrome rims. Christmas is coming!!
well at least now i can stop watching waiting to do a sniper move. :-) . bad timing for that 'sniper' word around here though.
